Penn President Amy Gutmann wrote in an email to all undergraduates on Tuesday morning that the summer savings grant will help mitigate the loss of expected income due to canceled summer jobs amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Because U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services suspended routine visa services at all embassies and consulates due to COVID-19, it is unclear if new international students will be able to secure visas in time for the fall semester.

The website, called The Virtual Vine, will feature weekly videos created by ambassadors from 15 universities for incoming students to learn about resources for academics, research, financial aid, and student life.

The prizes are awarded annually to graduating seniors to encourage them to design engagement projects that will make a positive difference in the world in their first year after college.

Penn Medicine’s Vice President for Public Affairs Patrick Norton wrote in an email to The Daily Pennsylvanian that the University of Pennsylvania Health System will continue to recruit employees “to ensure [Penn Med] can continue to meet our patient care mission.”

Since the move to remote teaching, some TAs said they are dedicating significantly more time to teaching and struggling to balance their work as both a teacher and student.

Warren taught at Penn Law in the 1980s and 1990s, and Biden served as a Benjamin Franklin Presidential Professor of Practice from 2017 until he launched his campaign in 2019.

For the next 25 years, the electricity produced at these sites will be purchased by the University at a price competitive to standard electricity prices.

While some students have expressed support for a semesterly Dean’s List based only on academic performance in fall 2019, the University has decided against this option.

Wolf ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations on March 19.
