For me, that’s the most troubling part of flipped classrooms — the idea that, with all the great faculty Penn has, they don’t spend time teaching. A freshman in an active learning Math 103 course told me that she is required to watch online lectures. Once she is actually in class, her professor puts her into groups and gives them worksheets.
I hope that I will love my child the instant I know they are mine — as my parents felt with me. I will love an adopted child with the same deep, irrational and unconditional love my parents have given me. Just like my parents, I will then begin the lifelong process of getting to know who they really are, and loving them not just as my child, but as their own person.

Mike Lintulahti isn’t one for the spotlight. For him, basketball has always been about the players first and foremost. And now, taking over as one of the assistant coaches for Penn men’s basketball, Lintulahti has the chance to shape the players in this program in ways that he never could before.
Luckily for Penn basketball, all the negativity surrounding the program is external. Inside the Palestra, the atmosphere pervading Jerome Allen’s players is one of positivity, optimism and belief. And it starts with two of the four seniors on the roster.
Having lost several key players – either due to graduation or other reason – from last year, the Red and Blue will look to a talented freshman class to help get the program back on track and moving in the right direction.
Columbus State Community College is small compared to nearby Ohio State University, yet its new president David Harrison is making changes that will have lasting impacts on students and those in the greater community. Harrison has committed to helping the Lumina Foundation — Indianapolis-based foundation — work towards its goal of increasing the proportion of Americans with college degrees, certificates, or other credentials to 60 percent by 2025. Harrison has engaged the help of the broader Columbus community, and so far many companies have pledged their support.
