After clearing it with the president’s office the afternoon before the show, College senior and Mask and Wig Chairman Tim Bloom invited Gutmann onto the stage to sing Penn’s song, "The Red and Blue."

Last week the winners of the President's Engagement Prize were announced. I scrolled past the subject line in my inbox and clicked delete.

I spent a long time wondering what topic I should write on today. I found it very difficult to pick a stance on anything.

“The goal of the Center is to connect three different groups of stakeholders: the industry people, the students and the faculty,” Baker Retailing Center Director Barbara Kahn said.

Villanova students protesting a lecturer accused of being a white nationalist were removed from the lecture.

"I do want to emphasize though that potential protests played absolutely no role in the cancellation of event," College Republicans political director and Wharton sophomore Owen O'Hare said in a text message. 

Pennsylvania State University has permanently banned the Beta Theta Pi fraternity from returning to campus following the death of a student.

Robertson will be working as a camp counselor for eight weeks, during the months of June and July. When she returns home in May, she will start her weekend shifts working her second job at an Italian ice shop.

As of Fall 2016, Penn reported that 32.7 percent of the university faculty were female, 23.6 percent were minority and 7.9 percent were URM. These percentages represent a slow, but steady increase in hiring across these groups.

Over the week, Fossil Free Penn said over 200 total students gathered in College Hall to demonstrate support for their cause. 

“We spoke to nationals about it and nationals was super supportive because, of course, this is the Alpha chapter,” Wharton sophomore and Skulls President Garrison Xian said. “Nationals is backing us completely.”

A $2,000 fund allocated by Penn Wellness will facilitate the expansion of this year's series and broaden its focus to different and more diverse areas of Penn, organizers said in a recent interview.

In the great balancing act that is being a student-athlete, not only do most athletes thrive, but they push their engagement beyond what is expected. This is the case for the student-athletes who not only take a full courseload while playing for the Red and Blue, but teach for the school as well.

Sometimes, a strong start and finish just won't quite do it. Penn women's golf learned this when it finished fifth out of eight teams in the Harvard Invitational this past Saturday.

“It did not live up to my expectations,” Zhang said. “Reading the description, I thought there would be a lot more activities, a lot more sharing.”

Before getting into who rowed the best and what teams finished first, it is important to understand that winning and losing are not always that important in the grand scheme of life.
