At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, a group of about two dozen Penn students gathered in front of the Benjamin Franklin statue on College Green as part of a walkout organized by Penn Students for a Democratic Society to protest the inauguration. 

Three days before the Donald Trump's inauguration, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said he would rather see former President George W. Bush back in office.

“Our approach is going to be one in which how can we make sure that students are aware of Penn,” Dean of Admissions Eric Furda said. “How can we work with organizations that are supporting students ... what can we learn overall about students transitioning into college?”

“Where I come from there’s nothing like rush. There’s nothing like Greek life or sororities and fraternities. It was new to some extent, I didn’t get what the point of it was,” Engineering freshman Zena Kipkenda said. “When it comes to public colleges, joining clubs in Kenya is up to an individual.”

In response to student concern over access to groceries, FRES said the following in an email statement: “Penn will work with the surrounding community to provide some alternative convenience/access to products and services during the transition to minimize disruption to the University and neighborhood customers.”

The premise of his book was developed through his work at Penn Hillel and the Jewish Renaissance Project, an organization he established in 2007 to create a more personalized Jewish experience for students on campus outside the establishment of Penn Hillel.

“[Horses] end up in the hands of people who love them, but may not know a lot about them,” Dean of the Vet School Joan Hendricks said. “It’s hard to take care of a cat or a dog, but it’s much, much harder to take care of a thousand to fifteen-hundred-pound animal.”

The Penn 4 Biden initiative began with a simple petition for students to show interest in having Biden move to the university after his term in office. Petition responses largely focused on the value of having the vice president as a “mentor and someone to look up to” at Penn, Reich said.

Blount expressed his fear that taxi services will go out of business in the face of their ridesharing competitors like Uber and Lyft. “Unless immediate relief is provided, it is likely the Philadelphia taxicab industry including plaintiffs will be bankrupted and completely decimated."

The room will have glass walls, wood ceilings, lights to mimic the stars, and a wool and silk sculpture by artist Claudy Jongstra, who is featured at the Barnes Foundation. Rogers added that the sculpture will help with sound reduction as the fabric will absorb outside noise. The room will also feature 84 seats in the main area, and 13 “soft seats.”

Wage discrimination, particularly the pay gap between white men and their female and minority counterparts, dominated conversations last election cycle.

“It’s so much more efficient for everyone involved because it doesn’t mean that our staff has to babysit people when they’re discovering things,” Jim Mathieu, the director of Digital Media at the Penn Museum said. “They can actually cater to them when they found what they wanted, which is provided.”
