Division I, meets Division III. On Thursday, the Quakers will compete against teams from Kenyon College, Johns Hopkins, and Carnegie Mellon in the first of three days at the Total Performance Invite hosted by Kenyon, in Gambier, Ohio.







As the forum discussed divestment from fossil fuels, those involved with the rally stood up in silent solidarity baring their weathered signs.

Following the passage of a student referendum last winter urging Penn to divest from fossil fuels, the University Council recently voted to move forward with the divestment proposal submitted by the student group Fossil Free Penn.

Last Week Students Organizing for Unity and Liberation, held a protest in solidarity with students at The University of Missouri and Yale, who had been protesting the unfair treatment of minority students on their campus, and in the case of Missouri the failure of the administration to proactively address the issue of racism on their campus. 



Recently, at the recommendation of a friend, I read author Rebecca Solnit’s essay “Men Explain Things to Me.” In the essay, Solnit tells a series of personal stories wherein various men condescendingly “correct” her about topics in which her expertise far exceeds their own.
