Penn graduate and nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer and musician JOHN LEGEND delivers the 12th Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture in Social Justice.

Last night, Legend joined Camille Charles, director of the Center for Africana Studies, to deliver the 12th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture in Social Justice. The event was part of an annual symposium, sponsored by the Center for Africana Studies, to honor blacks dedicated to positive social change.


Former Utah governor, 2012 presidential candidate and 1987 College graduate Jon Huntsman is returning to campus this afternoon to discuss United States-China relations. He will be the first speaker in a series of annual lectures offered by the Center for the Study of Contemporary China.

Penn’s chapters of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Psi recently lost their tax exempt status as nonprofit institutions. According to the Internal Revenue Service website, Alpha Psi’s tax-exempt status was revoked on May 15, 2010 and SigEp’s was revoked on Nov. 15, 2010.

This past summer, ISAC had six students working with 10 faculty members on the Integrating Sustainability Across the Curriculum program this summer. The program paired members of faculty with summer student interns to research sustainability as it relates to the course material and incorporate it into the curriculum.

Last semester, residents in Rodin and Harrison college houses, Sansom Place East and Sansom Place West received some welcome news. The message announced the trial of AirPennNet-Device, a new Wi-Fi network enabling users to connect devices that are not compatible with AirPennNet to Penn’s wireless Internet.

As the spring semester scrambles to a start, so too do student job searches. Many students are conducting their job hunts this year without the use of on-campus recruiting, a Career Services program that brings employers to Penn for on-campus interviews and recruitment presentation sessions.



Men's Basketball lost to Drexel 59 - 61

Tuesday, Penn Athletic Director Steve Bilsky gave a vote of confidence to coach Jerome Allen despite the fact that the Quakers could still end up with their worst record in the Ivy League era, since Penn is now 2-13 on the season.


	After two years in the Penn baseball program, junior Alex Ott left the team and took up writing for the Daily Pennsylvanian, citing numerous injury woes over the years. Over the course of his career playing for the Quakers, the lefty appeared in 25 games, finishing with a lifetime record of 1-0.

Junior Alex Ott joins the DP Sports staff after two seasons of varsity baseball at Penn. Despite notching 17 appearances as a freshman (the fifth highest single-season total in school history), Ott chose to walk away from the sport with great reluctance and a greater story.

The seven-member Commission on Student Safety, Alcohol and Campus Life — which President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price announced last week — contains a mixed bag of administrators from different departments around Penn.
