Some higher education experts said the new platform may just add to the list of things prospective students have to do, instead of easing the admissions process.  

The Palestra just saw a new shade of Red and Blue. On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers held their Blue x White Scrimmage with the White squad squeaking out a nail-biting overtime victory in front of a raucous, packed- to-the-rafters Palestra crowd.

Beyond the raw emotional reaction of losing on a walk-off touchdown on national television, Penn’s performance left something to be desired. Coach Ray Priore rightly credited Dartmouth for a well-played game, but the loss highlighted weaknesses in the Quakers' squad that had not been made evident in the non-conference slate.

On Saturday, Penn field hockey fell to No. 14 Harvard 6-0 on Berylson Field as the  Crimson scored four goals in the first half and finished the game with six different goal scorers on 17 total shots. Junior goalkeeper Libby Manela earned the shutout in goal for her eighth win of the season. 

Of the 24 Event Observers, about one-third are Penn graduate and professional students; another third are staff members, and the final third are individuals affiliated with Penn.

A student said Penn Police have disrupted various events at off-campus locations, including  an "ice-cream social" where there was no alcohol. 

Penalties, turnovers and a missed field goal were a few of the many miscues that doomed Penn in a 24-14 defeat at home against Army.

This past Friday at Rhodes Field, Penn tied Cornell in a hard-fought but scoreless battle. Coming off of a statement win against Harvard, the Quakers came out hot to start the game, firing off three shots to Cornell’s zero in the first 15 minutes of the contest.

Despite the season's early woes, the Quakers (1-6-1, 0-0-1 Ivy) entered the competition with energy and confidence. However, Penn's early dominance was met by an offensive onslaught by Cornell in the second half and overtime.

As the rooms were set ablaze, Upper Merion Chief Fire Marshal John Waters said, “Keep in mind, this could be your living room, your bedroom." 

“I think it’s great timing. It’s the start of midterm season, we’re in the height of OCR, we have a lot of stuff we can get out right here."

Members of the Undergraduate Assembly initially proposed having CIS count towards students' language requirements. 

"If we just stay on our campus, then we're not really doing anything to help the larger community. We have to use our power and privilege as Penn students."

The annual conference was geared toward underclassmen who are less likely to be going through on-campus recruiting, organizers said. 

Two plays in the last five minutes — one on each end of the field — made the difference between Penn football and Dartmouth as the Quakers came out on the wrong side of a 16-13 loss under the Friday night lights of Franklin Field.
