Come fall, students will be expected to learn in anemic schools with no arts classes, sports programs or music groups. What I find absolutely abhorrent about this situation is the lack of responsibility on the part of local businesses, city and state legislators alike concerning this issue.

By separating the government from the term “marriage,” perhaps we can discard some of the stigma against same-sex marriage — separating the church and the state in such a way could decrease the fear some religions have of same-sex marriages.




Men's Basketball Wins against Harvard

Currently, a good number of Penn players, from veterans Dougherty and Miles Cartwright to incoming freshman Matt Howard, are participating in the Delaware County Pro-Am Summer League, taking place at Haverford College.





	People gathered in front of the United States Supreme Court in anticipation of the decisions it would announce on Monday, one of which turned out to be Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin — a case dealing with the constitutionality of affirmative action.

In a 7-1 ruling delivered by Justice Anthony Kennedy, the Supreme Court ordered that Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin be reheard by a lower court because the fifth circuit court of appeals failed to “hold the University to the demanding burden of strict scrutiny” in its original decision.

Starting June 19, Computing and Educational Technology Services within the School of Engineering will replace its current Horde/IMP webmail interface with Roundcube, which will provide a more up-to-date web interface for the existing email service.
