Swim meet vs. UConneticut

Once again, Penn finds itself .500 on the week. For the second time in as many weekends, both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams split their respective Ivy dual meets, with both programs defeating Brown while falling to Harvard on Saturday. On the men’s side, the Quakers finished their regular season against the Ivy League with a 203-95 win over Brown and a 190-108 loss to Harvard. The men’s squad was anchored by its pair of standout juniors, as Eric Schultz and Chris Swanson both scored maximum points for Penn in their freestyle events.

At the request of Mr. Rohrback, we have compiled a list of facts that we deeply believe the PPA should rely on. President Barack Obama's free community college proposal has the support of Penn President Amy Gutmann. Obama is expected to propose a plan to provide free community college for millions of students in his Tuesday 'State of the Union.' Gutmann appeared on CNBC's "On the Money," talking about the positives of increased opportunities for higher education. Even though Penn's price of tuition continues to rise, the University has a all-grant, no-loan financial aid policy.

Amy Gutmann is far from alone as a woman leading an Ivy League institution: starting in July, there will be three others. Elizabeth Garrett is set to take over the presidency at Cornell in July, the beginning of Cornell's fiscal year, joining Gutmann, Drew Gilpin Faust (Harvard) and Christina H.

Freshman forward Mike Auger had another solid game against No. Villanova, scoring eight points while notching nine boards. The rookie now leads the Quakers with 6.4 rebounds per game.

Going into Saturday’s matchup, things weren’t exactly looking up for Penn basketball. Despite completing the squad's first three game winning steak in over two seasons earlier this year, the outlook for the Red and Blue looked decidedly bleak after blowing a 15-point lead to Princeton last Saturday. And, as most expected, the Quakers fell to No.

Ever wondered what the college admissions office thought about you and your application? Well, there might be a way for you find out. Students at Stanford have requested access to their college admissions files under Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The act forces schools to allow students access to their own records, which include the admissions process files, according to a Buzzfeed article. The Fountain Hopper, an anonymous website at Stanford, encouraged students to send in requests and approximates that 700 students have sent in requests.

Princeton decided not to use a sexual assault survey designed by the Association of American Universities to comply with Title IX and will instead design one of its own. The survey will be administered later this semester and will be designed similarly to a survey done by Rutgers, according to the Daily Princetonian report. Princeton decided to go with an independent survey in large part because of the customization and timeline it provided, as Vice Provost for Institutional Equity and Diversity Michele Minter explained to the Daily Princetonian. “An independent survey meant we would be able to go ahead with that planning quite quickly.
