On Saturday, the Dining Philosophers, Penn’s student computer science club, hosted a Finishathon for programmers, hackers, entrepreneurs and mentors to finish the projects that they started two weeks ago at Hackathon.

The Student Committee on Undergraduate Education hopes to launch a preliminary version of OPenned, its new online video education project, by the end of the semester, with full publication and release soon after.










Penn people discuss the current state of civil rights in America.

In Houston Hall, the Asian Pacific Student Coalition, Pan-Asian American Community House, UMOJA, Makuu, Latino Coalition and La Casa Latina came together for an event entitled “The State of Civil Rights Today.”


Shapiro Talk at Wharton

At last night’s Wharton Leadership Lecture in Huntsman Hall, College freshman Garrett Breeden got to meet his role model, Ron Shapiro, for the second time — 10 years after he jokingly signed a baseball card for Shapiro in case he ever became “rich and famous.”


	2009 Engineering graduate Ariela Nurko worked on animation for the movie ‘Brave’ which is being nominated for an Oscar. Nurko is a graduate of the Digital Media Design program at Penn and now works for Pixar.

Ariela Nurko, a 2009 Engineering graduate and 2005 Engineering graduate Paul Kanyuk are both part of the team that worked on the Oscar-nominated film, “Brave.” Both are graduates from the school’s Digital Media Design Program.





Laura W. Perna, a professor in the Graduate School of Education at Penn, discusses her book, “Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs in Metropolitan America,” which provides urban workers with the educational qualifications and skills they need for real-world jobs.

Graduate School of Education professor Laura Perna discussed her book, “Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs in Metropolitan America” in Houston Hall on Wednesday night. Following Perna’s presentation, contributing authors held a discussion panel of their own chapters.


UPenn V-Day hosts a sex workshop, MOREGASM was taught by professional sexuality educators Avital and Laura, from NYC sex toy shop Babeland.

Students gathered in the Heyer Sky Lounge of Harrison College House Wednesday night to learn how to have a healthy sex life. The event was this year’s VDay Campagin event and was hosted by The Vagina Monologues,the Penn Women’s Center, Wharton Alliance, Penn Consortium of Undergraduate Women and the Social Planning and Events Committee.

A group of activists from the Students For Undocumented Dreams and Decision Equity Now Movement created the Fair Common App to provide undocumented Americans with a space to record their citizenship status.
