U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak is holding a fundraiser at the Philadelphia Convention Center with President Barack Obama. The fundraiser marks the first time the two have appeared together since the primary, in which Obama endorsed Sestak’s opponent, Republican-turned-Democratic U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter.


Programmers convene at Hackathon

Starting at noon on Sept. 17 in Weiss Tech House, teams — mostly composed of Computer Science majors — brainstormed, created and published unique websites or cell phone applications designed to improve the Penn student life.

The Penn Book Bazaar, a website that allows Penn students to buy, sell and exchange textbooks, debuted late this August at pennua.org/textbook. To date, students have created 1,020 accounts — representing about a tenth of the undergraduate population — and posted 971 books

Popular campus restaurant Greek Lady re-opened this Saturday after completing a major renovation and expansion which began in June.

Though a new program is named “journalistic writing minor” and not “journalism minor,” we’d like to see the course offerings expanded so Penn could truly have a program with the latter name.
