Fall 2013 Undergraduate Assembly Elections


Long-time Penn football coach Al Bagnoli retired at the end of the 2014 season, ending his 23-year tenure as the winningest coach in Penn history. But he may not be done just yet. Bagnoli, 62, had spoken about moving into a role within the Penn Athletics administration after retirement, but, according to Mike Jensen of the Philadelphia Inquirer, he is in talks to take over as Columbia’s head coach.

The University should work on promoting its Early Decision policies to lower-income communities. Penn should work with organizations like QuestBridge, which works with high-achieving, low-income students, and others that help underserved groups through the college admissions process.

Harvard College is looking to implement its first academic honor code.  At a Faculty of Arts and Sciences meeting last week, the council voted to support the honor code, which would require students "to make an affirmation of integrity before taking final exams and writing final papers." The legislation will be presented to all FAS faculty on March 3.

A compilation of data from Rate My Professors found that female professors are rated more negatively than males professors.  The data allows users to separate the data based on the subject and on whether the rating was negative or positive, based on a numerical rating system.
