The Quakers trailed 31-21 at the break and never managed to catch up in the second half. They went on to lose their eighth straight game of the season, 66-53, at the Palestra Saturday.






Seventh loss Taylor-made

In Saturday night’s 80-75 loss to Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J., Hawks sophomore Travis Taylor torched the Quakers for a game-high 28 points as Penn fell to 0-7 on the year.

Approximately 23% of the student body voted on measures to reform student government. Students will now vote directly for a UA president and vice president during elections.

Votes on proposed changes to student government elections reached the necessary threshold for consideration. Turnout surpassed 20 percent on two questions, respectively, by 6 p.m. Thursday.



Jay Sean gets ‘down’ with Penn

Over 500 people showed up at MarBar for the “Jay Sean Visits Philly” event. DJ XTC, a South Asian X-perience DJ and a University of the Sciences senior also played a variety of hit tracks.

The number of early applicants is the highest it has been in three years, and applications have increased for the first time since 2005. This demonstrates the success of recent recruitment efforts.

Reported influenza-like illnesses at Penn remain low, with 12.9 cases per 10,000 students for the week of Nov. 29 through Dec. 5.
