	Last weekend, junior Ultimate player Himalaya Mehta had a tough decision. He was forced to chose between going to a tournament with Void, Penn’s team, or heading to Washington to play in his professional debut with the Spinners.

When the collegiate season ended each year, Mehta would play on competitive club teams, getting to experience the game at a higher level. So when the Philadelphia Spinners — one of eight teams in Major League Ultimate — announced they were having tryouts, Mehta couldn’t help but be intrigued.


As vice president of College Republicans, students are quick to disagree with me. I heard tougher jests during the campaign season on campus than “working for the Devil” can encapsulate. But that is the beauty of being a member of the so-called opposition.

Last Friday, about 250 guests, students and faculty from various Turkish cultural associations enjoyed Turkish food, music and calligraphy in Houston’s Hall of Flags for Philly Turkish Night 2013 — an annual banquet hosted in turn by Penn, Drexel and Temple universities.

Hong Kong Students Association Presents: MC Jin

On Sunday in the Bodek Lounge of Houston Hall, about 150 people turned out for a talk with the Asian-American rapper on his career and Hong Kong heritage. The event was hosted by the Hong Kong Students Association and the Chinese Students’ Association.



Gia Pronto New Location

A new and improved Gia Pronto will be opening today, just a few spaces down from the original store. While the new Gia Pronto was supposed to open in the beginning of the year, numerous construction delays set the opening date back.


Engineering seniors Cynthia Mai, Eric Berdinis and Jeff Kiske have designed a video billboard which tailors the advertisements it displays to the people walking by based on their age, gender, glasses and facial hair.



Softball falls to Cornell 5-0 in a double header.

The Penn softball team, on the path to winning the Ivy League championship, suffered a hiccup in an otherwise stellar season when it blew the second game of a doubleheader against Cornell on Saturday.But The Quakers recovered nicely, winning both games Sunday to finish the weekend with a 3-1 series victory.
