This announcement comes amid a series of student deaths at Penn. In the past month alone, three Penn students have died, adding to the seven student deaths last year. 

Two of the three Philadelphia locations proposed to construct Amazon's second headquarters are within blocks of Penn's campus.

The project, which began over winter break, will replace the escalators with newer models and will renovate the bathrooms, the elevator, and the cafe upstairs. 

Currently, Republicans hold the majority in both the Senate and the House. After these elections, however, 33 Senate seats and 435 House seats have the potential to turnover.   

Penn’s administration is acting similarly to peer institutions, which are filing appeals against grad student elections or completely refusing to bargain with these groups. 

Penn Dems had been in communication with Leach last semester about a possible appearance at Penn in the coming months, Penn Dems President and Wharton sophomore Dylan Milligan said.

HamCo will include a karaoke speakeasy bar, a Halal Guys, as well as a 10,000 square-foot, $7-8 million “amenity building” with a rooftop pool, hot tub, gym, and outdoor kitchen for residents. 

Penn will collaborate with Columbia University and the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation in the next three years to digitize Arabic, Persian, and Turkish texts through a full-time cataloger. 

“You can’t really have a functioning democracy without an activated public,” political science professor Julia Lynch said. 

"Exploring your passion not only benefits your academic work but also helps improve your mental health,” Wharton freshman and member of Passion Projects committee Gabriel Sokoloff said.

On Penn's campus, the result of the increase in burst pipes and flooding has been an increase in administrative support and resources. 

The contest, part of the Penn Museum’s 37th annual Chinese New Year Celebration, requires Instagram entries to include their dog's name and a New Year's resolution for their pet.

Other universities have also taken steps to reduce the presence of Greek Life on campus, including the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State University, Louisiana State University, and Penn State University.  

Penn Democrats President and Wharton sophomore Dylan Milligan said this past fall 120 new members signed up to be part of the Penn Dems deputy board, 100 of which were freshman.

The four new minors include Archaeological Science, East Central European Studies, Law & Society, and Medical Sociology, all of which were introduced in the fall of 2016.

SRFS plans to create a single website to consolidate all job postings and is working to raise and standardize salaries and plans to increase the number of jobs desirable to students. 

Jan. 20, 2018 marks a year since President Donald Trump was inaugurated, beginning one of the most controversial administrations in U.S. history. It also marks a full year since Penn has had a graduate in the country's top office.
