Not far from the Penn graduate taking the oath of highest office, inside the Capitol Building, was another Penn alumna. Behind the scenes, this recent grad was involved in the inauguration in another capacity: she helped to plan it.

As a member of the Vietnamese Student Association, Nguyen talked about celebrating the holiday at Penn. Despite being away from her home and family, Nguyen said she was happy to see that “a lot of people still cherish the traditions that we have, and we have a great community to celebrate with.”

Nine Penn professors were among several hundred academics to sign an open letter to federal officials opposing President Donald Trump’s appointment of Ben Carson as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the Philly Voice reported.

Following the shooting, Yiannopoulos’ upcoming speech at University of California, Davis was cancelled, according to Inside Higher Ed. GAPSA president Gaurav Shukla clarified that GAPSA is not holding this course to stop itself from any sort of impending implosion. In fact, he said it's quite the opposite.
