Many African and African-American students at Penn believe that the black community is unified because of a shared experience of living as a black person in America — not because black people constitute a homogenized group with assumed similarities beyond the color of their skin.

On April 16, Levine spoke at an event held by Lambda Grads, the LGBT organization for graduate students. Her speech commenced the Day of Silence organized by the Lambda Grads, in which participants remained silent for all of Friday.



Disney Pixar’s "Inside Out" animator Dan Holland spoke to the Penn and Drexel student bodies on Friday.

On April 17, Disney Pixar’s Inside Out animator Dan Holland spoke to the Penn and Drexel University student body, presenting them with an overview of the film’s storyline, his contributions and challenges he faced in creating the animation of this major animated movie.
