FIJI Protest

A wrongful death lawsuit accusing the University and Phi Kappa Sigma of failing to properly maintain a fraternity house holds traces of a similar suit that was settled less than a decade ago.

Rajiv Goel, a 1983 Wharton MBA recipient who was implicated in an insider trading case involving fellow 1983 Wharton MBA recipient Raj Rajaratnam, was sentenced yesterday. Goel, who testified against his classmate, received two years on probation, $266,000 in forfeiture and a $10,000 fine.





In 2012, the University as a whole has so far spent $382,513 on the education industry throughout the first two lobbying quarters. The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania have spent $292,513, and the School of Medicine — which has its own government affairs office — has spent $90,000.

Through the use of open-source 3-D printers, researchers at the Tissue Microfabrication Lab have come up with a cheap and innovative way to create a model of an effective blood vessel network, which is vital to the survival of any organ.
