The donation, made by 1971 College graduate Edward W. Kane and his wife Marty Wallace, will go towards a facility named the “Edward W. Kane Theatre.”

The survey — which is a part of the Annenberg Science Knowledge research series — released its findings on Sept. 26.

The Sept. 30 event featured an introduction by Nursing Dean Antonia Villarruel, followed by an expert panel that was moderated by Penn Carey Law professor Eric Feldman.

Stanford is running to represent Pennsylvania’s third congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, while Goodman is seeking to represent the commonwealth’s 148th district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Jackson, who assumed the provost position in 2023, described his office as “the perfect perch from which to really make sense” of Penn as an institution. 

Universities are “free to develop models and values other than those” offered in the memo, but only if the institution chooses to forgo federal benefits, the document stated.

Also, Penn’s Vice Provost for Climate Science, Policy, and Action Michael Mann announced his resignation from the role.

The Sept. 30 event — part of Penn Hillel’s Jackie Reses Speaker Series — spotlighted Dillon’s career as an example of an individual who competes at the highest level “while balancing” their Jewish identity. 

Since 2017, Offit has served two four-year terms — including through the COVID-19 pandemic — on the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biologics Products Advisory Committee. 

The initiative aims to enhance graduate student engagement through a biannual conference that brings students together to share ideas, advance their training, and showcase their research through seminars and workshops.

In interviews with The Daily Pennsylvanian, Penn professors argued that the memo could create a “chilling effect on free speech” at Penn and other universities.

The announcement came two weeks after Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.) called for Penn to take action against Mann in light of his social media activity regarding the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Also, 2013 Wharton graduate Charlie Javice was sentenced to seven years in prison for fraud.

As part of the program, participants responded to daily two-question quizzes about their health habits for a 30-day period.

More than 200 people attended the event, which was held at Jon M. Huntsman Hall, including current students and 20 alumni. 

Alongside the seasonal decorations both inside and outside of Houston Hall, Penn Violence Prevention and the Cultural Resource Centers held booths informing students of their programs.
