At approximately 7:52 a.m., Philadelphia Police, the Philadelphia Fire Department and Penn Police responded to a call for a strong odor and steam coming from the Wistar Institute at 3601 Spruce St. , according to the Division of Public Safety. The steam leak resulted in one person being sent to HUP for evaluation.

Being home means drinking a lot of tea and making the odd nostalgic trip to the terrible local nightclub where I once made out with my best friend’s older brother. Those are all very important things, but I cannot pretend that home is really where I belong now.

Scott Kleinman, a 1994 College and Wharton graduate, donated $10 million to create the new Kleinman Center for Energy Policy. Launching this fall, the center will serve as a forum to unite researchers and stakeholders, facilitating the creation of real energy policy. It will also host visiting speakers, conferences and interdisciplinary classes.


During her term as dean, Marilyn Taylor oversaw the 13 percent growth of the student body and the 20 percent growth of the standing faculty at PennDesign. 

Marilyn Taylor, who began her term as PennDesign dean in 2008, will now serve until 2016. During her time at Penn, she has increased the school's visibility and influence.






Franklin Field will never actually look full, but efforts by Grace Calhoun and the Athletics department can certainly help bring students to games.

As we march towards a future with dwindling attendance and a steadily aging donor base, Penn Athletics needs to figure out how it can once again be part of the culture, part of the true Penn experience.And with a new AD in place and renewed energy around the department, the time is now.
