The Penn community gathered Friday night in the ARCH auditorium to remember College student Amanda Hu, who died earlier this semester.

University Chaplain Charles Howard led the intimate memorial service, in which friends and faculty shared memories of Hu.

Benjamin Garcia, a biochemistry professor at the Perelman School of Medicine, reflected on the strong impact Hu had on his lab, where she worked, as well as Hu’s passion for her research. Nursing junior Lexi Ayala read a heartfelt letter to her deceased friend.

The speakers were bookended by renditions of "Set Me As A Seal" and "Amazing Grace" by the Penn Glee Club.

At the conclusion of the service, those present passed around bubble tea and noodles as they comforted each other with fond memories of Hu.

The memorial service was organized by Student Intervention Services.
