BRIEF: Undergraduate deans to hold forum

The event is part of Education Week, SCUE chairperson David Kaufman said yesterday. Norman Adler from the College, Janice Bellace from the Wharton School and John Keenan from the Engineering School will participate in the event, which will be moderated by Assistant to the President Nicholas Constan. Frances Thurber, an assistant professor in the Nursing School, will also participate. Kaufman said the administrators will discuss whether preprofessionalism and the liberal arts are "complementary or contradictory." "We think it's very important for the community to hear what the people most directly involved in charting the undergraduate experience have to say on a variety of issues," he said. "The most important aspect is how to match preprofessionalism and the liberal arts together." The forum will be at 4:30 p.m. in the Ben Franklin Room in Houston Hall. -- Drew Zoller
