Graduate School of Education professor Laura Perna discussed her book, “Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs in Metropolitan America” in Houston Hall on Wednesday night. Following Perna’s presentation, contributing authors held a discussion panel of their own chapters.






UPenn V-Day hosts a sex workshop, MOREGASM was taught by professional sexuality educators Avital and Laura, from NYC sex toy shop Babeland.

Students gathered in the Heyer Sky Lounge of Harrison College House Wednesday night to learn how to have a healthy sex life. The event was this year’s VDay Campagin event and was hosted by The Vagina Monologues,the Penn Women’s Center, Wharton Alliance, Penn Consortium of Undergraduate Women and the Social Planning and Events Committee.

Historically, the value America has placed on the elderly is abysmal. We commit 1.2 million over the age of 65 to nursing homes and countless studies have reported instances of abuse. Dealing with our elders has become just another chore.

A group of activists from the Students For Undocumented Dreams and Decision Equity Now Movement created the Fair Common App to provide undocumented Americans with a space to record their citizenship status.

Penn’s International Internship Program is expected to expand this summer with a 45 percent increase in applicants. The program is reaching out to regional alumni clubs and tapping into other various resources to maximize opportunities for students.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey announced on Wednesday that the ban on women serving in the military would be lifted. However, female students preparing for the navy and military already have a mostly integrated training experience.


Penn's Gamers Club meets to play board games, participate in scavenger hunts, and watch movies.

The Penn Gamers Club meets every Wednesday on the third floor of Houston Hall to play obscure, interactive board games. Members of the club speak about the hours they spend competing and ‘trash talking’ as if they’re playing sports.

Students who participate in Penn Greek life speak of the strong bonds they acquire through their sororities and fraternities – bonds that extend to their careers. Some of the benefits include OCR advice and alumni networking.



Mens Basketball defeats UMBC in 2012-2013 season opener

Despite coming into the season with just four career points, Lucas-Perry has made a big impact for the Quakers this season in a small role. The sophomore guard has played a pivotal part in two of Penn’s three victories, contributing 15 points against UMBC and scoring the final five points against NJIT.
