A Penn sociology professor believes capitalism will meet its demise by the end of the 21st century. Randall Collins held a lecture at the University of Texas at Austin on Friday in which he said that capitalism would be done by 2045. “Capitalism depends on having an income-earning population that can buy its products,” Collins said in the lecture.

Yale's chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon was banned from campus until August 2016 after a presentation at their 2014 initiation ceremony violated the University's sexual misconduct policy. According to a Yale Daily News report, the fraternity will be banned from on-campus activities, university-wide emails and the use of the SAE name in conjunction with the University.  The ban stems from an incident where two members of the fraternity made inappropriate comments about a female student during the initiation ceremony.

Protesters from a group called Divest Harvard staged a sit-in at Massachusetts Hall, a Harvard administrative building, on Thursday night.  The protesters are demanding that Harvard divest from fossil fuels, similar to Penn movements from Divestment at Penn and Fossil Free Penn over the last two years.  Also similar to Penn, Harvard has refused to divest from fossil fuels, leading to the protests at Mass.





Yale men’s basketball came into the Palestra in first place in the Ivy League. And for 40 minutes, the Elis certainly looked the part. Penn basketball stood little chance against first-place Yale, falling 75-48 in the Friday night affair.














Bartram’s Community Farm seeks to give southwest and west Philadelphia more access to fresh organic produce.

Historically, southwest Philadelphia has had some of the lowest rates of accessibility to fresh organic produce. The Community Farm and Food Resource Center at Bartram’s Garden — also known as Bartram’s Community Farm seeks to change that.
