Students protest Trustee's decision to not divest from fossil fuel industry

In the UA New Student Representative race, there was a tie for the candidacy between College freshman Michelle Kim and College freshman Max Grove. There will be a runoff election between these two candidates.
Josh Shapiro currently serves as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and Chairman of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
"We have a really robust campaign in terms of food and waste," Director of Business Services and Hospitality Services Pam Lampitt said.

The decision came upon the unanimous recommendation of an Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Divestment assigned to review divestment.
When the results came out, Penn President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price called them “deeply troubling."
Penn's 17.8 million dollar investment came to fruition Tuesday, with the grand-opening of the Perry World House.
“The lack of such notice on this occasion was a big misstep by the school, and they are lucky no Penn students ended up in the crossfire," Engineering sophomore Jordan Rosen said.
"Officer Miller’s bravery underscores the courage and professionalism of our Penn Police force," Gutmann said. "We are blessed to have the best university police department in the nation."
The most popular major of Penn presidents is English.
Over the summer, the Penn Violence Prevention Office tripled in staff, welcoming Associate Director Malik Washington and Program Coordinator Katie Chockley.
Sexist language does perpetuate a sexist culture, administrators and students interviewed for this article said.
"It has no place in a civil, respectful university," Gutmann said in a meeting with The Daily Pennsylvanian.
At the start of every year, Penn welcomes first-year students with a packed orientation filled with five days of of educational programming and elaborate festivities.
“In many ways, Penn’s administration is leading the way for what Universities ought to strive towards [for LGBT rights],” said Vice-Chair of Internal Affairs of Lambda Alliance and College junior Sean Collins.
The letter, which includes signatures of women from 18 affiliated sororities, off-campus organizations, co-ed fraternities and multicultural groups, described a pervasive reality at campuses nationwide that “targets women and brands them as inferiors, or simply objects for the male gaze.”
It's mandatory, but only 7.9 percent of upperclassmen have completed it.
