Freshman Elections

Voting for freshman elections began at 12:01 a.m. Monday and will close at 5 p.m. Friday. Students have been casting their votes online, and candidates have been busy campaigning and getting their names out to the Penn community.

Rajiv Goel, a 1983 Wharton MBA recipient who was implicated in an insider trading case involving fellow 1983 Wharton MBA recipient Raj Rajaratnam, was sentenced yesterday. Goel, who testified against his classmate, received two years on probation, $266,000 in forfeiture and a $10,000 fine.





In 2012, the University as a whole has so far spent $382,513 on the education industry throughout the first two lobbying quarters. The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania have spent $292,513, and the School of Medicine — which has its own government affairs office — has spent $90,000.
