Hi! I’m Angela Rice and I’m running for Wharton Class Chair. That lovely December day when early decisions came out was definitely one of the best days of my life.

My name is Ellery like Celery, and I’m not your average candidate. I’m a transfer student, which means I’m new to Penn, but I’ve also experienced my own freshman year, and know how it can be made better.

Most of us love Penn, but it isn’t perfect. While most of us are still on the high of getting in, we’ve all been bothered by the dining hall hours, those hidden text book fees we didn’t find out about until after registration, and the personal nuances we have all encountered.

My name is Vy Bharad (Vybhavi Bharadwaj), and I am running for the Undergraduate Assembly and Wharton Class Chair for Class Board.

Eat. Work. Sleep. These are the staples of college life; the bits in-between are just foreplay. Is it not odd then, that Penn makes it as difficult as possible to get on and revel in these activities? By 8 o’clock, all dining halls are closed, keeping starving athletes who finish practice at 9pm and late-night eaters from using precious dining swipes. The textbook situation is also silly; I have yet to comprehend how much I spent on one semester’s worth of books.

Fashion has long given preference to females, with general lack of male interest. By allowing talk about men’s fashion to be a taboo, we are shutting down opportunities for the man on the street to express himself.

Aman Gupta, Louis Markham, Phillip Fuchs and Katherine Mateo. What these names have in common, besides the fact that they represent some intensely attractive people, is their recognition of Penn’s imperfection.
