With a new citywide partnership, Penn is helping senior-citizen immigrants educate their communities - by making videos. Penn's department of Family Medicine and Community Health has joined in a partnership to improve the health care of Southeast Asian immigrants in Philadelphia, which has the largest Southeast Asian refugee population in Pennsylvania.

When College senior Abby Huntsman stands next to Sen. John McCain, she can see the scars on his face from his days as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. For her, these scars are tangible evidence of how much he's sacrificed for his country. In fact, he's the most patriotic person she's ever met, she said.

A new course-planning tool seems to have made it easier to plan for advanced registration, which begins today for fall classes. Launched on March 17 on Penn InTouch and PennPortal, the program allows students to search for courses based on several criteria, including course name, instructor, status, starting time and the requirement the course fulfills.

Two of Penn's student government groups need to sit down and discuss their differences - perhaps over a glass of wine. This year, the Undergraduate Assembly cut funding for the Student Committee on Undergraduate Education's preceptorial program, in hopes that the organization would then limit funding for its popular - but expensive - wine-tasting preceptorial.

Tracy McIntosh, the former Penn neurosurgery professor who was resentenced last month for a 2002 sexual assault, is now challenging his new sentence. Joel Trigiani, McIntosh's lawyer, had stated an intent to appeal the new sentence of 3 « to seven years in prison, and he followed through with that appeal on March 20.

In high school, all it takes is seven innings. The eight freshmen on the Penn softball team are learning that to be successful in college, it takes 14. At 1 p.m. tomorrow, the Quakers will take the field for the first of two contests. Like all game days this season, Penn will have to play a doubleheader.

ST. LOUIS - Coming into the NCAA Championships, Penn wrestling coach Zeke Jones knew that for his team to earn high All-American honors, each wrestler would have to start fast out of the gate. But with one day down at the tournament, Penn has had trouble doing so.

UA isn't afraid of political issues To the Editor: Regarding "Stepping up to the soapbox" (3/20/08), the Undergraduate Assembly shouldn't shy away from politically charged issues that directly affect Penn students, and I absolutely agree with Adam Goodman.

Yesterday The Daily Pennsylvanian reported on the projected decline in high-school graduates set to begin next year and last until 2015. The New York Times, reporting on the same study last week, noted that this trend could cause most universities to receive fewer applications and thus suffer from less selectivity among applicants.
