In the strong 12-team field at the 36-hole Wolfpack Spring Open — which featured several top Division I programs, including No. 23 host North Carolina State — the Quakers finished 11th.

Facing Cornell in Penn’s last home match of the season, the Big Red proved to be as tough as their undefeated record showed, winning the match, 5-2.



Back in the Ivy win column

The women’s tennis team finished its season this weekend on a high note, ending with two consecutive Ivy League victories — two more than it had all last season — over Cornell Friday and Columbia Sunday.

This year, overall crime during Spring Fling decreased 27.5 percent compared to last year — hospital cases and disturbance complaints went down, and no arrests were recorded.
