Community college brings a big change to the community

Columbus State Community College is small compared to nearby Ohio State University, yet its new president David Harrison is making changes that will have lasting impacts on students and those in the greater community.

Harrison has committed to helping the Lumina Foundation — Indianapolis-based foundation — work towards its goal of increasing the proportion of Americans with college degrees, certificates, or other credentials to 60 percent by 2025. 

Harrison has engaged the help of the broader Columbus community, and so far many companies have pledged their support. American Electric Power is donating $5 million to work force training programs.
