Schools form partnership to discuss mental health on campus

A group of 55 colleges and universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, have agreed to a partnership with two nonprofit organizations in an effort to examine how  each school is handling student mental health.

The schools are taking part in the Jed & Clinton Health Matters Campus Program. The goal of the program is to help schools  prevent student deaths via drug overdose, alcohol poisoning or suicide.

Each participating college and university will undergo self-assessment of its available mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention resources. The partnership will then provide assessment tools and reports to the participating institutions over a four-year period.
