Freshmen unlikely to gain 15 pounds their first year in school

Have you ever worried about the 'Freshman 15'? You can throw those worries to the side.

According to an article in The Atlantic, the average adult only gains three pounds during his or her first year in college.

So where did this myth originate? "The first article to reference the Freshman 15, meanwhile, was Seventeen magazine in 1989, in an issue whose cover featured 14-year-old supermodel Niki Taylor wearing a bright orange corduroy blazer," the article states.
