Theft
Feb. 6 - A student reported that his parked car at Garage 40 on 40th Street was broken into when he returned to the vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. after several days away.
Feb. 6 - A student reported that an unknown person took his wallet, of unknown value, which was left unsecured on a desk in Van Pelt Library at about noon.
Feb. 6 - Mark Strickland, 34 and unaffiliated with the University, was observed by another unaffiliated person allegedly snatching a pocketbook from a staff member on the 3200 block of Convention Avenue. The witness stopped and held Strickland until police arrived at about 11 a.m. and Strickland was arrested.
Feb. 7 - A staff member reported that several packs of SEPTA tokens were removed from an unsecured desk cabinet in Harnwell College House at about 4 p.m.
Feb. 8 - A complainant unaffiliated with the University reported that at an unknown suspect removed his wallet and cell phone from a dressing room in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at about 1:30 p.m.
Feb. 9 - A student reported that her wallet was taken while she was sleeping in Houston Hall at about 5 p.m.
Feb. 10 - A complainant unaffiliated with the University reported that an unknown suspect removed items from her wallet, in her coat pocket, while she was in the Furness Building at 220 S. 34th St. at about 2:30 p.m.
Feb. 10 - Thomas Long, 22 and unaffiliated with the University, was observed in Fresh Grocer allegedly with items under his jacket at about 1 p.m. The items were then recovered, and long was arrested.
Feb. 10 - A complainant unaffiliated with the University reported that, at 5:30 p.m., someone stole an unknown amount of money at the UPS store at 3720 Spruce St. The suspect told the complainant he had been given too much change, prompting the complainant to reach into the cash drawer and allowing the suspect to retrieve the money.
Feb. 11 - Arthur Pezzetti, 25, allegedly left Fresh Grocer with unpaid-for items and was subsequently apprehended at about 10:30 a.m.
Fraud
Feb. 8 - A complainant not affiliated with the University reported that four males entered the New Delhi Restaurant at 4004 Chestnut St. and left without paying at about 10 p.m.
Robbery
Feb. 10 - Two 13 year-olds, unaffiliated with the University, allegedly took a male student's gym bag forcibly on the 4100 block of Sansom Street at about 8:30 p.m. The suspects fled on foot and were later apprehended by police.
Other Offenses
Feb. 9 - A staff member at Hill College House reported receiving threatening letters from an unknown party.
