Theft
Oct. 19 - A laptop was reported stolen from a Towne Building laboratory. There have been no arrests.
Oct. 19 - At about 8 p.m., a gray 1987 Toyota Camry was taken from a metered spot on the 3100 block of Walnut Street. No arrests have been made.
Oct. 20 - About $300 worth of costume jewelry was reported taken from a locked office in the John Morgan Building, located at 3620 Hamilton Walk. Police have no suspects.
Oct. 24 - About $300 was reported taken from a cash box in a safe in the Dulles wing of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Auto and Retail Theft
Oct. 18 - At about 10:20 a.m., two video games valued at over $200 were stolen from the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center's gift shop. Anthony Jones, 50 and unaffiliated with the University, was arrested in connection with the case.
Oct. 20 - Between Oct. 9 and 20, a 2000 black Mazda Protege was stolen from at the 4100 block of Locust Street. No arrests have been made.
Robbery and Burglary
Oct. 19 - At about 10:30 a.m., a highway robbery was reported at 39th and Sansom streets. About $50 was reportedly taken from the victim, who is unaffiliated with the University, by two men who have not been arrested. The robbers threatened the victim with a fake gun.
Oct. 24 - Between Oct. 20 and 24, a burglary occurred at 4033 Spruce St., the Theta Xi fraternity house. A laptop and computer equipment were taken from a locked room. No arrests have been made, and police have no suspects.
Assault
Oct. 20 - At around 7 p.m., a case of simple assault occurred at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. No arrests have been made.
Oct. 22 - At about 1:45 a.m., a fight erupted at Smokey Joe's on 40th Street, resulting in an aggravated assault. No arrests have been made. The victim, who is not affiliated with the University, said he was pushed to the floor and sustained minor head injuries.
Other
Oct. 21 - At about 4 a.m., Elijan Heake, 21, and Natsud Iwata, 18 - both unaffiliated with Penn - were arrested for allegedly vandalizing property on the 4100 block of Chestnut Street. Police say the two men were found with spray paint and colored markers near the vandalism scene.
Oct. 22 - James Lowe, 45, and Kree Murchinson, 27 - both unaffiliated with the University - were arrested for allegedly paying for dinner at Copabanana on 40th Street with counterfeit bills.
Oct. 23 - Chris Brokenbough, 56 and unaffiliated with the University, was arrested for allegedly selling opium on 40th Street.
