Water turned off again in Harrison College House
The water system in Harrison College House was shut off again yesterday for repairs.
"There was a leak in the main ... line, where there was a temporary patch," Locust Area Facilities Services Director Betsy Robinson said. "The water was turned off to repair the patch."
Both hot and cold water was shut off between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the entire building.
Harrison residents were informed about the impending water shortage two days ago, when they received an e-mail from Hamilton Village Residential Services Administrator Barry Lasley.
Robinson said that it might take some time for the hot water to return, as well as to get a strong flow. She added that these events would be sporadic.
Residents said they were not upset about the shortage of water.
"The water was off all day, but it was a better day than last time," College junior Aparnaa Seshadri said. "Last time, it was on a Saturday, and no one knew" it was going to be a complete shutdown. "Now we had a chance to go to class."
Despite the inconvenience, Seshadri said she was not annoyed.
"It's just something they have to do," she said.
