To the Editor: I find this deficiency quite disturbing. Crew is a varsity sport, and Penn is very good at it. This weekend, I noticed hundreds of Penn students in Boston to watch the Head of the Charles Regatta. While this is the largest regatta, it still shows that many students are interested -- yet crew never gets its share of DP time. Also, it would be nice for Penn to see results in the paper. Incidentally, the lightweight eight finished fourth behind only those boats composed of national team and non-college rowers. That is, they beat all the other colleges and universities, including Princeton, Harvard and the other Ivies. I am unsure how the heavyweight eights did, but I would have loved to see an article covering the race. Your failure to cover the fall racing season for the crew team is very disturbing. Our last fall race was on Saturday at home. I can't believe that Penn has the fastest collegiate crew in the nation, and has not gotten a single article in the newspaper. I repeat, Penn is number one in a division one sport and you have made no mention of us. The DP sucks. GARRETT SCHADE Engineering/College '95
