The Daily Pennsylvanian

LETTER: Faster Service

To the Editor: At approximately twenty minutes to 10 p.m., my friend and I called for service. We were told the van would arrive in about 20 minutes. In 25 minutes a van passed us, but it was not for us. As I approached the van, the driver immediately said he could not pick us up. He was able to contact the dispatcher by C.B., but he was hesitant to do so. Another ten minutes had passed and still no Escort service. At 10:26, my friend and I decided to walk. Gee Escort, thanks for nothing. The corner we waited on was 42nd and Baltimore Avenue -- not a safe place, right? A freshman female has no business walking the streets in such an area at night. I pay $25,000 a year along with the rest of you for terrible service -- excuse me, no service. Something has to be done about the way Penn assures the safety of you and me.
