For stressed-out holiday shoppers, Terry Lundgren has a few suggestions about where to go: Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Lundgren, the CEO of Federated Department Stores Inc. - which owns the Macy's and Bloomingdale's department store chains - spoke last night in Huntsman Hall to an audience of about 150 people, discussing Federated's recent acquisition of May Department Stores as well as Macy's nationwide re-branding campaign.

In 20 years in law enforcement, Peter Christ says he made drug-related arrests on a daily basis. Ever since he retired, however, he has been traveling the country to speak out against the so-called war on drugs - and to push for legalizing illicit ones. Christ spoke in Huntsman Hall Wednesday night to a crowd of about 40 people on behalf of the Penn Libertarians Association.

As the official story runs, President Bush was re-elected in 2004. But one professor has his doubts. In a speech at the Penn Bookstore last night, professor Steven Freeman said that exit polls predicted a victory for Democratic candidate John Kerry. He added that the electoral process might be to blame for the discrepancy.
