Following a roller coaster season in which the Quakers won as many as six in a row, the squad entered a four game stand with Princeton this weekend having lost six of its past seven. However, the Red and Blue didn’t disappoint, winning three of four.

In its last weekend of competition, the Penn men’s tennis team is determined to just have fun.

A disappointing road stint continued for Penn women’s tennis this weekend as the team was swept 7-0 by both Brown and Yale this weekend.

The inevitable team bonding on a long west coast trip proved to be a more important takeaway than their 1-2 record for the trip.

With a complete lineup for the first time in months, the Red and Blue will travel to Towson, Md., for the Shelli Calloway Invitational, where they will take on the Tigers, Cornell, Temple, and Ursinus.

Though valuable seniors leave the program each spring, the Penn women’s squash family never really gets smaller.

While competing in the two-day New Balance Invitational in New York City, five Quakers qualified for the ECAC Championships, bringing Penn’s total number of qualifiers to six.

For the past three years, the showdown with the Tigers has proved to have defining consequences, with the winner of the match going on to the Ivy title.

Missing from the M. Tennis roster are last year’s top player and one of this year’s captains. But when the Quakers open their season tomorrow at Levy Pavilion with a doubleheader against Drexel and Bucknell, they’ll still be playing with a target on their backs.

With back-to-back matches against Williams and Amherst slated for tomorrow, the Penn women’s squash team is in a prime position to extend its win streak to nine.
