Penn may have finished off a weekend sweep with Saturday night's 67-53 victory over visiting Harvard, but it wasn't one-sided. The Crimson walked away with a better three-point showing, shutting down the Penn players who shot from beyond the arc. All but one.

Philadelphia Big 5 play is over for the Quakers, but Ivy League play is just heating up. The Penn women (6-10, 1-2 Ivy) are gearing up for the bulk of in-conference hoops, which begins tonight when the Red and Blue host Brown (3-15, 1-3) at the Palestra, and continues on Saturday as Yale (10-8, 3-1) visits the Quakers at 7 p.

As a freshman last year, the only recognition Dionte Christmas got was talk of his potential. The freshman guard made appearances in all of the Owls' 32 games, averaging 3.5 points in only 11.3 minutes per appearance. But when Temple hosted Akron in the final game of the 2005-06 season, former Temple coach John Chaney gave Christmas a new type of recognition.

Just before Cornell freshman Ryan Wittman graduated from high-school basketball to NCAA competition, his father, Randy, offered some words of advice. "He told me how it's going to be more intense, how guys are going to be stronger and how you have to play differently," Wittman said.
