Front Breaking

Brown bags the rematch

The Bears withstood a late Penn rally to escape the Palestra with an 80-73 win Friday night. And unlike the last time the two teams met, there was no disputing who came out on top.

The reduction can be attributed partly to the Division of Public Safety’s ongoing collaborative efforts with University City retail establishments to strengthen crime prevention, according to Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush.

Getting healthy was all it took for the Penn gymnastics team to have its best performance of the season. At the Shelli Calloway Invitational in Towson, Md., the Quakers recorded their highest score this season, with 186.4.

The Latest

The Quakers traveled to Cornell to compete in the first part of the two-week Ivy League Championships, where they went 3-1. They will look to show their strengths on their homecourt at Hutchinson Gym next week, when round two of the Ivy Championship will take place.

Out of the doghouse

Penn's 81-69 win over Yale was the team’s highest point total since its Jan. 6 victory at Maryland-Baltimore County. The Quakers ended a three-game losing streak and improved to 4-5 in the Ivies.
