Through seed and Series A investment, the fund supports projects developing novel therapeutics, diagnostics, research tools, and AI-enabled drug discovery.

The StartUP Fund — managed by the Office of the Chief Innovation Officer — seeks to provide up to $250,000 to eligible start-up companies.

Robbins also discussed the necessity of representing those outside the technology space within AI-related discourse.

The consolidated class action case would assume the name of the first plaintiff, 2014 College graduate Christopher Kelly, and include “all other similarly situated individuals.”

It is part of a larger push at the GSE to prepare both students and educators for the rapid growth of AI in classrooms.

The 206-page report, titled “An Artificial Intelligence Code of Conduct for Health and Medicine,” lays out a unified ethical framework aiming to regulate the use of AI in healthcare.

As of publication, The Daily Pennsylvanian identified four separate lawsuits filed by Penn graduates that allege the University was negligent in implementing adequate cyber security measures. 

In the Nov. 4 email, Joshua Beeman — the interim vice president of information technology and interim chief information officer — wrote that Penn is still investigating the “nature of the information” obtained in the breach.

The complaint alleged that as a “result of UPenn’s negligence and insufficient data security, cybercriminals easily infiltrated Defendant’s inadequately protected email accounts” and accessed personally identifiable information.

The documents — which were released by the alleged hacker and reviewed by The Daily Pennsylvanian — include internal University talking points, memos about donors and their families, receipts of bank transactions, and personal identifying information.
