Over 1.4 million Pennsylvanians requested mail-in ballots for this year's primary, approximately 13 times more than the count in the 2016 primary.

Penn in Washington typically features a cohort of 25 Penn undergraduate students, who take four credits in specified courses alongside an internship of the student's choice in Washington, D.C.

Rising College junior Cassy Ingersoll and rising College senior Owen Voutsinas-Klose have been named the new co-chairs of Penn for Biden.

Although absentee voters now have until June 2 to mail their ballots, some Penn students who applied for a mail-in ballot from out of state may still be unable to vote because of delays in receiving their ballots.

Elections offices must receive ballots by 5 p.m. EDT on June 9, one week after the original deadline. Ballots must still be postmarked by June 2.

Voters with Pennsylvania identification can apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot online, while non-identification holding voters must email, call, or mail in a request to receive a ballot.

The group hopes to diversify what it feels is a dominant pre-professional atmosphere on campus by fostering electoral engagement and progressive activism. 

CAFSA, an on-campus organization officially founded in September 2019 to combat rape culture and support historically underrepresented identities, removed Penn Dems from their coalition after they endorsed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Even though most students have now left Penn's campus, students should still be counted as living in Philadelphia, or where they would have been living on April 1 had the coronavirus not displaced them.

Though Biden does not share the alumni status of 1968 Wharton graduate Donald Trump, several members of the Biden family have graduated from Penn’s various schools, and the former vice president served as a Penn presidential professor of practice.

Warren taught at Penn Law in the 1980s and 1990s, and Biden served as a Benjamin Franklin Presidential Professor of Practice from 2017 until he launched his campaign in 2019.

Wolf ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations on March 19.
