This year, 21 faculty members across Penn’s schools and departments were chosen to participate as fellows.

The donation — announced by Penn President Larry Jameson on Sept. 22 — will support a co-director position as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at the Penn Institute for Urban Research. 

Several speakers at the meeting reported that the repetitive or unclear feedback they received on written assignments was indicative of the use of automated grading systems.

Each awardee will receive $50,000 and be presented a sculpture at a ceremony on Nov. 13.

The rankings put the University at fourth place among the Ivy League institutions.

In an interview with The Daily Pennsylvanian, Morris Arboretum Executive Director William Cullina said the lab fills a critical gap for the Arboretum’s scientific staff.

The survey showed an increase in basic knowledge of constitutional rights and government, while also finding stark partisan differences in views of the Supreme Court.

Brown emphasized the importance of streamlined communication between Penn’s faculty, administration, and students as a “foundation for political effectiveness.”

During the meeting, several students spoke about the direct impact of the Supreme Court’s decision on Penn's Latinx and international student community. 

In the role, Trodden will lead 28 departments across various areas of the humanities and sciences to form an interdisciplinary school based in the liberal arts.

Penn's score went up 6.5 points and 17 places from 2024 after adopting a policy of institutional neutrality.

The Lorentz Medal, awarded every four years by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, is the Netherlands' highest honor in the field of theoretical physics.
