The Quakers eked out a 58-53 overtime win over Bucknell on Monday night at the Palestra. The Red and Blue’s second straight victory was again decided by single digits.

This past year, these flex seats were occupied by UA members. Flex seats are seats that are not reserved for UA representatives or the Nominations and Elections Committee and may be assigned to either branch. However, after College senior and Speaker Pro Tempore Jon Monfred’s resignation Sunday night, a seat became available and prompted a heated discussion between the NEC and the UA.

During the years MacCarthy actively wrote in Hollywood between 1978-81, he says he had a “modicum of success.” After his win in the contest, MacCarthy was partnered with Paul Taylor, another writer, and they were signed to 20th Century Fox. Together, they sold multiple pilots, wrote a story for M*A*S*H and had frequent meetings with networks.

The parents of Matthew Crozier, a former John Carroll University student who died in January 2011 following a fall from the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity house on Penn’s campus, received more than $3 million in a wrongful death settlement.



The Ernest Opinion

I cannot say that my role as an elected representative on campus has been best used to advocate for students. Many campus issues that I encountered as a Quaker have not been addressed by the UA.

The men finished their day in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., undefeated, easily beating North Carolina, Vassar, Sacred Heart and NYU. The women’s sabre team lost to Temple, 5-4, while the epee team beat the Owls, 5-4.
