It was certainly a day of firsts for the Penn field hockey team. The Quakers won their first game of the season at St. Joseph's, 2-1, yesterday with the help of junior midfielder Annie Matthews' first ­- and second - goals of her career.


Given the current economic situation, the Penn Museum has made it a goal to “develop itself as a destination,” the museum’s director, Richard Hodges, wrote in an e-mail. “It needs to attract a much larger audience with associated revenues to become sustainable.”

Student government steps up recruitment efforts

A male student, 31, reported that he was approached at the Webster Manor by an unknown suspect, who brandished a handgun, demanded money and fled.


Four scores and one year ago
