Penn alum Sundar Pichai is the big name CEO that no one knows. Yet.
Having recently been promoted to the CEO of Google in August, Pichai is still relatively unknown and is doing his best to appreciate all the privacy he can get, according to Buzzfeed. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Pichai seemingly drifts from showcase to showcase and even is asked if he is a member of the press.
But rather than go unnoticed, Pichai has quickly risen to superstar status in his native India that has served as a launching point for the hopes for globalization in other areas of the world. Starting with his “Google for India” initiative, Pichai looks to change the controversial NSA side of Google to a worldly outlook in an attempt to earn its next billion users.
Born in India, Pichai was fortunate enough to come from an educated family. After Penn, Pichai started at Google from first working on its creation of the Googletoolbar and then transferring to Google Chrome team, where he solidified his reputation for collaboration.
