News Brief | No suspects in Monday shooting

Philadelphia Police are still investigating a shooting that occurred on the 3900 block of Ludlow Street Monday night.

They have no suspects at this time, a spokesman said.

A man and a woman were taken into Philadelphia Police custody for questioning on Monday night, according to Division of Public Safety spokeswoman Stef Cella.

However, the Philadelphia Police spokesman said they have since been released.

At 7:36 p.m. Monday, police received reports of gunshots outside a residence at 3913 Ludlow St.

At least seven shots were fired. No injuries were reported in the shooting.

Witnesses said they saw "a black Escalade with black-tinted windows rolling out," according to Wharton sophomore Chris Baird, who lives nearby.

Penn Police stopped a Cadillac Escalade at the 3900 block of Chestnut Street shortly after the shooting, according to Philadelphia Police officer Gerard McPhillips.

The vehicle did not belong to a suspect, a Philadelphia Police spokesman said. Its driver was only fleeing from the gunshot
