The Daily Pennsylvanian incorrectly reported Tuesday that the Social Planning and Events Committee had incurred a $50,000 debt at the end of last school year.
"SPEC as an organization is not in debt," said SPEC president and College senior Michelle Jacobson.
Though at the end of last year the Undergraduate Assembly increased the overall SPEC budget, the budget allocated by the UA for the Spring Fling concert was less than last year's allocation.
As a result, SPEC plans to use up to $50,000 from its contingency fund to cover the decrease in the Spring Fling concert allocation. According to Jacobson, they will use this fund so they can continue to provide students with the same quality of concerts they received last year.
