The final extended shutdown of the El shuttle bus service due to the Market Street Elevated Reconstruction Project will begin on Aug. 8. at 8 p.m., and will run until Aug. 25 at 5 a.m.
During these 16 days, El service will not operate to 52nd Street, 60th Street, Milbourne or 69th Street Terminal.
SEPTA Market-Frankford Line El service between 40th Street Station and 69th Street Terminal will be replaced by shuttle buses.
MSE is in the final phase of construction to design and rebuild nearly 11,000 feet of track through West Philadelphia and Delaware County. The $710 million design plans to open up Market Street and significantly improve traffic flow.
Two levels of El Shuttle service will run over the shutdown.
